What to expect from this session:
This webinar explores masking in neurodivergent children through the unique lens of a paediatrician, teacher, and parent.
Moving beyond textbook definitions, it offers a compassionate and practical look at why children mask, the hidden emotional cost of constantly 'holding it together,' and how this can show up differently at school and at home.
The session creates space for reflection, validation and deeper understanding whilst also offering practical tools to support young people to unmask both at school and at home.
Meet Your Speaker: Dr. Jess Morgan
Dr. Jess Morgan is a former NHS children’s doctor, having worked in clinical medicine for eleven years before retraining as a primary school teacher. With a deep interest in mental health and neurodiversity, she brings a unique, joined-up perspective to her work supporting families, educators, health professionals, and leaders to help children and young people thrive.
Jess is also a leading voice in physician wellbeing. She has led a national project in this area at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and understands how workplace culture directly shapes the care we are able to offer children and young people.
Outside of her professional roles, Jess is a mum to two girls and brings lived experience of navigating life’s challenges alongside them. She loves nothing more than a windy walk, followed by a one-shot latte in a bookshop.
